Ward aimed and ready to take on Shlemenko “Cold War style!”

Season 9 tournament winner, the “Irish Bad Boy” Brennan Ward will finally have his shot at “The Storm” Bellator’s middleweight champion, Alexander Shlemenko live on Spike TV Friday, March 28th from Utah’s Maverik Center at Bellator 114.
Brennan WardWard (9-1)  an accomplished NCAA div 3 wrestler and boxer, earned his shot at the middleweight champion in last seasons middleweight tournament where he won three straight fights with second round finishes in each, including KO victories over Justin Torrey and Mikkel Parlo. “Simply put, I’m looking forward to bringing the heat and taking the belt away, Cold War style,” Ward said.
Shlemenko meanwhile rides a 12 fight win streak and will bring an impressive 49-7 record to the table. “I saw Brennan Ward in the last tournament, he was impressive,” Shlemenko said. “But he is a young fighter, while I have experience on my side. My experience will be my strongest weapon in this fight.”

In addition, season seven finalist Rad Martinez (14-3) will square off against featherweight veteran Edson Berto (17-11-1) on the night’s main card, in what will be the final fight of Martinez’s professional MMA career.

Ward has a huge northeast following and all can watch the fight live the event will broadcast live at 9 p.m. EST/ 8 p.m. CST on Spike TV. The preliminary card will be streamed live and free on beginning at 7 p.m. EST/ 6 p.m. CST.
