New England MMA Amateur Rankings

Just as the site has a new look so do the rankings. A lot of fighters have moved into the pro division this month and some have been very inactive. Inactivity is a killer for you if your looking to keep your ranking. Its better to lose an exciting well matched fight than to stay inactive to hold a spot. A perfect example is the 205lb division where Team Pitbull fighter Xavier Vargus of Haverhill captured the top spot after a win over Crow Boutin at a recent Combat Zone. Jesse Baughman, Athough a beast cannot hold reign  at the top of the heep any longer if he doesnt fight to prove it.

One of the more popular divisions, Bantamweight is down to skin and bones as most of the division has graduated to the pro division. a new flock of fighters with for sure fill in the top ten within the next few months. A great opportunity for some young fighters.

Matty Tullos still holds the top spot for a record 12 months in the featherweight division. Arguably the toughest division in the New England region. Stand-out Jeff Perez pushed his way into the top three with a huge win over Lauzon MMA fighter, Ricky Proctor.

A very quiet lightweight division this time around, Lightweight kingpin Jimmy Manning has talked about retirement but still holds the top spot until its official. lots of fights stirring up in the comming month in the lightweight division. Keep an eye out for Dave Spero to make his way to the top of the ranks as he is set to fight for the Combat Zone lightweight title in April.
