Joe CondonWorld Series of MMA officials, announced that Joe Condon will be Nick Newell’s opponent for his next bout. This bout will be held on April 10 at the Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, CT. This will be a homecoming bout for Newell, and expect a raucous crowd in support of him. Newell just re-signed with the organization after months of negotiating.

Condon (12-7-0) comes out of the west coast & trains under the tutelage of UFC veteran Joe Stevenson. He made his WSOF debut last month, and was originally scheduled to be on the undercard to face Jimmy Spicuzza, but due to an injury from Brian Cobb, Condon was moved up to the co-main event slot against undefeated Johnny Nunez. Nunez was fresh off a win over top ranked Ozzy Dugulubgov and was possibly in title contention with a win. Condon pulled off the upset, choking out Nunez in the third round. Ironically Dugulubgov will be on the co-main event on April 10 facing Melvin Guillard. Before WSOF, Condon had spent the majority of his career in King of the Cage, and had just come up short in a Junior Welterweight (160 lbs) Title challenge to Champion Joshua Aveles in June.

Newell (11-1-0) was last seen challenging for the WSOF title, coming up short against Justin Gaethje in July. Newell was hoping for a rematch due to an illegal knee strike during that bout. He was cut from it, and didn’t feel the same as the referee did not intervene. Newell has 10 finishes in 11 victories.

Tickets are available now at Foxwoods.com, and will be held at the Grand Theater. Stay tuned to Mass-MMA as we will announce more bouts as they are revealed
