WSOF Foxwoods Adds Mima, Campbell, Foster, & a Super Hero!

The World Series of Fighting is coming to Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, CT on April 10, and the card is filling up fast with announcements of fighter contract signings.

First notable Seattle “Superhero” Phoenix Jones aka Ben Fodor has announced he will be making his WSOF debut at Foxwoods.  Fodor is an undefeated Welterweight at 6-0-1, and made headlines this weekend with a pieces on ESPN’s SportsCenter program.  He leads an interesting life to say the least.

On the regional side, local favorites Darren Mima, Chris Foster, & Johnny Campbell have all announced they have signed to compete on April 10 courtesy of their Facebook pages.   No opponents have been announced for any of the fighters.

mimawsofcampbellwsofDarren Mima (5-3-0) has been competing in the CFFC as of late, where he just came up short in a their Flyweight Title bout.  Campbell (11-5-0) is on a 6 fight win streak, competing for Cage Titans where he currently holds their Bantamweight Championship.  Featherweight Chris Foster (8-3-0) is coming off a 19 second KO over Taylor Trahan for Combat Zone.  He is a winner in 4 of his last 5 bouts, the lone defeat coming from UFC’s Rob Font.  The event is headlined by a Light Heavyweight Tournament bout featuring Ronny Markes facing David Branch.  Melvin Guillard is in the co-headliner facing Ozzy Dugulubgov,  Nick Newell fights for the first time in CT against Joe Condon, & Juliano Coutinho is scheduled to face NCAA Champion Steve Mocco.  Stay tuned to Mass-MMA for more fight announcement.
