Bangor, ME — New England Fights returns to Bangor exactly one year to the date. Many amateur fights highlight the night, Most in particular, A clash between “hairy” Fred Lear and “smooth”Walt Shea for the NEF New England Bantamweight Amateur title. Lear (5-2) carries a two fight win streak. The former featherweight has found a natural home at bantamweight where he is now undefeated with two straight finishes. The new comer, Walt Shea (2-0) has begun to make a name for himself with two straight decision victories in his first two bouts. If chest and facial hair has anything to do with how this fight goes down, then my money is on Fred Lear. I cant even imagine what getting stuck in side control under his sweater chest dripping in sweat must feel like. tap tap

Speaking of Youngs MMA fighters, “THE” Ryan Sanders (14-8) makes his return to the cage for what should be a steam roll as he takes on the recently popular to New England Jay “Pad your record with me” Ellis (13-69). Jay has been called on 4 times since June to come in for a lay-down check against some of New England’s top fighters that can’t seem to find a fight. Nothing against Sanders here but I hardly see him breaking a sweat. Ellis has lost 10 straight, all finishes, all in the first round. If Sanders wants to make this interesting, the record is :23 and an average of 2:00 (counting his walk-out). Beat that!

As we continue in the Youngs MMA vs the rest of Maine card, An actually fun fight im looking forward to is new stand-out fighter Aaron Lacey (4-0) vs Bryan Goldsby (17-16). See, Aaron is untested so far. A successful amateur career (6-1), but his one loss was the only notable opponent he fought. His pro career has gone the same 4-0, nothing notable yet but Goldsby has been in there with some killers and won some big fights. Albeit Goldsby is old enough to be Aarons dad now, he’s still winning fights and will give Aaron all he can handle for the first time in his young career. Goldsby is 4-1 in his last five with his lone loss to Kevin Croom via decision. Croom is legit!

And…Finally in the Maine event (see what i did there?). CJ Ewer (2-0) Obviously from Youngs MMA…takes on Mike Hanson (5-5). What’s interesting here is that CJ usually fights at Welterweight and even lightweight and Mike has fought at Heavyweight for most of his career. Although CJ may be giving up some weight here, He’s built like he lifts heavy things all day and then puts them down. He’s also spent just 2:07 in the cage as a professional to Hanson’s 10 fights!  Mustache Mike has spent too much time in the cage with some real beasts for me to bet against him in this one.

Your full fight card is below, everybody knows the rules…subject to change.
