AMATEUR BOUTS

Female Strawweight (115 lbs.)

Sarah Ziehm (CMBJJ) (1-1-0)
v.
BJ Garceau (Young’s MMA) (0-0-0)

Round 1: Zeihm work angles and the two lock up with some strikes. Garceau charges in with haymakers but Ziehm goes for a double leg. Maintaining her feet, Garceau manages to continue forward with strikes. Zeihm gets the clinch against the cage but Garceau breaks free. The fighters trade strikes with nothing landing flush and end up in the clinch on the cage again. Zeihm with some good striking within the last ten seconds.

Round 2: Zeihm with a kick to the midsection and immediately clinches against the cage. Garceau with underhooks but the two reverse. Garceau grabs a quick guillotine and collapses but Zeihm almost counters and gets the back. Garceau with half guard lands some strikes, but Zeihm manages to get Garceau’s back before the end of the round.

Round 3: Zeihm going for the takedown against the cage. Garceau continues to fight the takedown, staying against the cage and showing good balance. Garceau with strikes off the break. Zeihm almost gets the back again within the last ten seconds but Garceau manages to defend well.

Catchweight (160 lbs.)

Isaac Therrien (Berserkers MMA) (1-0-0)
v.
Mohammad Al Kinani (Evolution Athletix) (2-0-0)

Round 1: Both fighters come out with fire. Trading takedowns and escapes, eventually Therrien slips and ends up on the receiving end of a couple of strikes, but gets to his feet using Al Kinani’s leg. After a brief moment of feeling out, Al Kinani lands a straight that sends Therrien reeling against the cage, holding his face. After a couple more strikes, Therrien turns and taps on the cage.

Winner by Submission (tapout due to strikes) in 1:50 of Round 1: Mohammad Al Kinani

Lightweight (155 lbs.)

David Hart (Kenney’s MMA) (0-2-0)
v.
Stacy Lupo (The Outlet) (0-1-0)

Round 1: Lupo gets a kick caught but Hart can’t capitalize. A couple of leg kicks, and Lupo catches a strike that takes Hart down where and the referee stops the fight.

Middleweight (175 lbs.)

Carlton Charles (Charles Fighting Family) (1-1-0)
v.
Delmarkis Edwards (Independent) (0-0-0)

Round 1: A little circling and Charles just tees off on Edwards. Edwards loses balance and does not appear to be defending himself, so the referee stops the fight.

Winner by TKO (strikes) in 0:12 of Round 1: Carlton Charles

Female Bantamweight (135 lbs.)

Chelsea Elizabeth (First Class MMA) (0-1-0)
v.
Catie Denning (Young’s MMA) (0-0-0)

Round 1: Fighters mix it up with punches until they clinch against the cage. They break. Denning looking to close distance with jabs. Denning’s overhand rights connect but Elizabeth gets a takedown and gets the back. Denning stands, carrying Elizabeth on her back, turns into the clinch and levels Elizabeth with another overhand right. Elizabeth continues to clinch and go for the takedown until the round expires.

Round 2: The fighters are more careful, grappling against the cage rather than throwing wild punches. Denning with some strikes to break the clinch and a good uppercut to follow when Elizabeth retaliates. Denning with knees to the solar plexus. The fighters toe to toe in the center until Denning clinches for a near takedown to end the round.

Round 3: Both fighters come out banging. Against the cage again, Denning with the takedown attempt. After over a minute of clinching, Denning gets the sweep for the takedown. Denning mounts and gets a strike off before time is up.

Winner by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28): Catie Denning

Light Heavyweight (205 lbs.)

Ryan Glover (Fire & Iron Athletics) (3-2-0)
v.
Joe Berube (3Ronin Athletics) (0-0-0)

Round 1: Glover with rapid strikes to the body but Berube weathers the storm and gets the back. Glover turns into the takedown attempt and gets against the cage. Berube with knees and dirty boxing, and tries to muscle another takedown. Glover works the uppercuts. A feeling out for a moment and Glover with a straight that rocks Berube. The fighters throw until the end of the round.

Round 2: Glover with some good strikes to open up, but continues to try to muscle a takedown. Glover gets side control and manages to mount high but can’t posture up to score many punches; Berube does a good job of holding on until the bell.

Round 3: Glover drops Berube early and pours on the strikes and hammerfists. Many look close to the back of the head but the ref lets it go. Berube does not defend himself and the fight is stopped.

Featherweight (145 lbs.)

Shawn Lunghi (RMNU) (2-0-0-0)
v.
Devin Corson (The Outlet) (1-0-0)

Round 1: Scrambling early and Lunghi wastes no time taking the back and flattening Corson for the choke out.

Bantamweight (135 lbs.)

Kyle Kenney (Kenney’s MMA) (0-0-0)
v.
Kam Arnold (CMBJJ) (1-0-0)

Round 1: Kenney with a spinning backfist that misses and Arnold counter attacks. A huge lift and slam by Arnold, who makes his way to half guard and mounts, then settles for side control. Back to mount, and Arnold pounds his way to a TKO.

Winner by TKO (strikes) in 2:00 of Round 1: Kam Arnold

Female Bantamweight (135 lbs.)

Amanda Gallo (RMNU) (0-1-0)
v.
Jayda Bailey (Young’s MMA) (1-0-0)

Round 1:

Round 2: Gallo with more high kick attempts that don’t find their mark. Bailey continues to work more of a boxing style. Bailey taking a few quick shots each time she tries to close the distance, but eventually backs Gallo against the cage with a clinch.

Round 3: Gallo coming with more power kicks and lunging in with more punches. Bailey staying grounded and working strikes until she can get the clinch again. Gallo reverses it against the cage. Gallo begins to land some knees and kicks in the center, and Bailey seems to be taking more punishment now. Neither fighter gives in and the round ends.

Winner by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27): Amanda Gallo

Flyweight (125 lbs.)

Ryan Burgess (Berserkers MMA) (2-2-0)
v.
Nate Boucher (CMBJJ) (2-1-0)

Round 1: Burgess with a jab and Boucher with a takedown. Burgess gets full guard but Boucher manages to posture up. Burgess gets up, but Boucher gets back on top in side control, holding a headlock and punching. Burgess almost gets the back, and nearly gets an armbar but comes close to getting dropped on his head. Boucher on top and that’s where the round ends.

Round 2: Boucher with a takedown. Butterfly guard by Burgess, who gets what appears to be a good triangle choke, holding it for close to a minute. Boucher does not give up and manages to fight out of it before the end.

Round 3: The fighters grapple with Boucher getting the advantage, end up in Burgess’s guard. Burgess goes for another triangle, then an armbar, but Boucher defends against everything and lasts the round.

Winner by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 27-30): Ryan Burgess

PROFESSIONAL BOUTS

Featherweight (145 lbs.)

Aaron Lacey (Young’s MMA) (4-1-0)
v.
Josh Parker (Ruthless MMA & Boxing) (6-9-0)

Round 1: Lacey goes for the leg early. Parker stuffs the takedown and they end up against the cage. A few attempts at takedowns, and Lacey begins to work the knees from the clinch. Parker drops after one knee and it looks as though Lacey might finish it with strikes and elbows, but Parker is intelligently defending. Half guard and Lacey tries to isolate an arm. Lacey gets into side control and starts throwing bombs but Parker keeps the defense. Lacey spins and goes to Parker’s back where he soon secures a rear naked choke for the win.

Lightweight (155 lbs.)

Nate Charles (Charles Fighting Family) (0-0-0)
v.
Zenon Herrera (Team Smog) (0-6-0)

Round 1: A bit of posturing and Charles hits hard with a Superman punch, rocking Herrera. Charles postures up from a guard but Herrera gets a leg and both men stand. Herrera manages a takedown and gets mount. After some groundwork, the fighters scramble to their feet. Good sportsmanship by both. Herrera gets another takedown and side control but Charles gets to his knees. Herrera gets a guillotine and pours on the power but can’t get the tap before the bell.

Round 2: Herrera takes some strikes to the chin and goes for a takedown. Herrera with a spinning backfist that gets a nod from Charles. Herrera on top in Charles’s half guard. Herrera gets another armbar but Charles fights out of it, before raining down punches from above. Herrera goes for a kneebar, and by the end of the round Charles is throwing strikes at Herrera’s calf.

Round 3: Herrera dives for a leg but comes up with nothing. Charles connects with a stiff jab and Herrera gets another takedown. Herrera is attempting to get mount for over a minute and finally gets it, but can’t land any substantial strikes from the top. Charles is bucking his hips but seems to be too weak to throw his opponent off. Herrera going for wrist control to try to land but the round ends.

Winner by Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28): Zenon Herrera

NEF Welterweight Championship (170 lbs.)

Kemran Lachinov (Team Link) (5-2-0)
v.
CJ Ewer (Young’s MMA) (3-0-0)

Round 1: Lachinov with a short strike that takes Ewer down briefly, but Ewer scrambles for the takedown. Up and down, fast and furious, it is difficult to see if Ewer is losing his footing, getting hit or going for takedowns. Ewer ends up on top but Lachinov has a kneebar that he holds for what seems like forever before getting the tap.

Middleweight (170 lbs.)

Mike Hansen (Berserker’s MMA) (5-8-0)
v.
Jesse Erickson (CMBJJ) (9-7-0)

Round 1: Hansen with some strong uppercuts to wake up his opponent. The fighters work the clinch with knees back and forth. Erickson with underhooks and eventually gets the takedown. Side control for Erickson until Hansen gets to his feet and gets a trip. Erickson looks to have a head and arm choke for the win.

Lightweight (150 lbs.)

Taylor Trahan (Team Link) (7-8-0)
v.
Bruce Boyington (Young’s MMA) (14-11-0)

Round 1: Spinning back kick barely touches by Boyington. Trahan with a high kick gets caught and taken down. Boyington drags Trahan to the cage and starts to punch. Trahan spins away from the cage but Boyington keeps the pressure on. Boyington spends the remainder of the round in top position and throws a big right hand at the end before the bell.

Round 2: Trahan with a high kick is caught again and taken down, Boyington allows him up. Another takedown and Boyington is in Trahan’s guard, looking to improve position. By the end of the round Trahan is bleeding, likely from a short elbow.

Round 3: Boyington with a spinning roundhouse to the midsection that buckles Trahan. Boyington takes the back with a bodylock and after a few elbows, gets the tapout from a rear naked choke.
